Scientific Advice Programme

The Scientific Advice Programme was set up in 2009 and offers fee-for-service consultancy advice to the manufacturers of products that may be evaluated by NICE in the future. For example, manufacturers may wish to know whether their proposed development plans are likely to generate the evidence required for a future NICE technology appraisal. Demand for our standard advice projects is high, with repeat business from most of our clients.

In response to client requests we have now expanded the range of services we offer. This has included giving advice at joint meetings with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and representatives of a number of HTA agencies from Europe. We also offer advice following joint meetings with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

More detail on our programme can be found on the NICE website.
